Essay
The void is not absence. The void is presence made legible. Casa Void refuses the logic of enclosure — the room as container, the wall as definition, the ceiling as limit. What remains when these assumptions are stripped away is not emptiness but a different category of fullness: a space that holds light the way water holds cold.
The work began with a question that was also a refusal. What does a house mean when shelter is no longer the primary condition? In contexts saturated with warmth, softness and information, the void proposes the inverse — a volume that does not comfort but clarifies.
To inhabit Casa Void is to understand that presence requires preparation. The body arriving into the space must first slow, then stop, then begin to read. The void is not passive. It is the most demanding form of attention a room can ask for.
A space that holds light the way water holds cold.
