05

Concept 05 is the longest-running study in the archive, and the only one permitted to contradict itself. It exists as a sequence of attempts at the same house — the same footprint, the same orientation, the same light — resolved differently each time and never finally.

The discipline is in what stays fixed. The patio does not move. The long wall does not move. Everything else is treated as an open question: where the mass sits heaviest, how the roof meets the sky, whether the courtyard is a room or a gap. Each version answers, and the answer is kept.

Photographed across seasons, the study becomes a record of a building thinking. There is no final version and there was never going to be one. What Concept 05 documents is the interval between decisions, which is where most of the work in architecture actually happens.
