House 07 is a study in how little a house can declare and still be one. The volume is single, the roofline unbroken, the openings placed only where the plan genuinely required them. Nothing was added to make it read as architecture.

The restraint is a position, not an aesthetic. A house that announces itself commits its occupants to a permanent performance of the architect's intentions. A house that says less leaves room — the furniture, the accumulation, the mess of a life lived — to become the visible part.

What remains to be designed, once the gestures are removed, is proportion and light. Those are the hardest things to get right and the only things that cannot be renovated away. House 07 spends its entire budget of attention on them.
